The Challenge: Restoring a Home Neglected for Two Decades

Dr. Text and his wife knew it was time for a significant exterior makeover. Their beautiful North Scottsdale home had weathered years of wear and tear, leaving its stucco cracked, drywall damaged, wood deteriorated, and paint faded. They were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work needed and weren’t sure where to start.

Crandall Painting was called in to assess the situation. After a comprehensive inspection, we provided a detailed report outlining the necessary repairs and solutions. Our goal was clear: to restore the home to its former glory while protecting it from future damage.

Our Solution: Comprehensive Exterior Restoration

This wasn’t just a painting job—it was a full-scale restoration. Here’s how we transformed the Tex residence:

  1. Stucco Repair & Restoration
    We repaired extensive stucco cracks and failures, ensuring a seamless and durable finish that would withstand the elements for years to come.
  2. Wood Repair & Replacement
    Rotten and deteriorated fascia and other wood elements were replaced with high-quality materials.
  3. Door Replacement & Refinishing
    The water-damaged garage access door was replaced, and the front door underwent a meticulous sanding, stripping, and refinishing process, restoring its original beauty.
  4. Drywall & Patio Ceiling Repairs
    Water-damaged drywall in the patio ceilings was replaced and cracks repaired, holes were patched, and water intrusion points were sealed to prevent future issues.
  5. Foundation Repairs
    We addressed water-damaged areas of the foundation (stem wall), ensuring a new look and getting rid of unsightly cracks and water damage. 
  6. Exterior Painting
    After extensive prep work, we applied a primer and two coats of the highest-quality paint, giving the home a fresh, vibrant look.
  7. Pool Deck Refinishing
    As the finishing touch, we refinished the pool deck, ensuring the outdoor space was as stunning as the home itself.

Mike and his crew are dependable and professional. Our extensive painting staining project was done within the timeframe specified and to our complete satisfaction.
